Our hot air balloon base in Maintenon, near Chartres

Our historic base, the birthplace of hot air ballooning, is located in the town of Maintenon, just next to Chartres. The departure point is near the Château de Maintenon. Slowly, the balloon rises with the wind, then gains altitude so that you can admire the château, its architecture and its impressive grounds from the sky. We then fly towards the magnificent Eure valley, a rural and bucolic route dotted with mills, wash houses and magnificent buildings. The arrival in Chartres offers a panoramic view of Notre-Dame Cathedral. Finally, if visibility is good, we will be able to see the beautiful Rambouillet forest on the horizon, as well as the silhouettes of the Eiffel Tower, the Montparnasse Tower and La Défense. How do I book my flight?

It couldn’t be easier: simply purchase the flight of your choice online on our website. You will then receive a purchase confirmation by email, inviting you to choose your desired flight date. We will then get back to you to confirm the date (or suggest a new one if necessary). As flights are weather-dependent, we will contact you the day before the confirmed date to confirm that the flight will go ahead as planned. Don’t worry, if the weather is bad, we will quickly reschedule a new date together. Your ticket is valid for two years!
