A journey out of time

The Domaine de Villeray, owned by the Eelsen family, is located in the charming 16th-century village of Villeray. At the bottom of the village, on the banks of the Huisne River, stands the Villeray mill, and at the top of a country road is the entrance to the Château de Villeray. In the heart of the Perche Natural Park, this majestic château is nestled in 30 hectares of grounds filled with century-old trees. The Domaine de Villeray is now a hotel with numerous rooms and a spa located in the former orangery. In an environment steeped in history, it is the ideal place to take off in a hot-air balloon. The château stands in the middle of lush greenery, overlooking the entire wooded park.

After admiring the Villeray estate and the commune of Sablons-sur-Huisne, we will fly over part of Normandy in a hot air balloon. Passing through Berd’huis and Saint-Hilaire-sur-Erre, we will be able to admire the pretty little castle of Beaulieu. Above all, we will fly over the Perche Natural Park, a green oasis just two hours from Paris, recognised as one of the jewels of French heritage. Today, it comprises 88 municipalities between the Orne and Eure-et-Loir departments and is characterised by a wide variety of natural environments: hedgerows, meadows, forests and ponds. It is home to exceptional wildlife and remarkable architectural heritage, with manor houses, superb farmhouses and charming villages.

Head to Eure-et-Loir, and more specifically to the town of Nogent-le-Rotrou. Overlooking the Huisne Valley, the Château des Comtes du Perche is strategically located at the crossroads of five valleys and three regions: Île-de-France, Normandy and Maine. Also known as the Château Saint-Jean, it is an ancient fortified castle steeped in history. During the Hundred Years’ War, it was invaded and the keep was set on fire by the Englishman Salisbury. The castle then underwent architectural changes during the Renaissance: the towers were raised and the main building was transformed. Elevated to the status of a duchy-peerage, the castle returned to Sully in 1624, who chose to redesign it in the Louis XIII style. During the Revolution, it was converted into a prison, then began its renaissance in 1843. Now listed as a historic monument, it houses the Perche History Museum. A sumptuous monument to be admired from the sky.

How do I book my flight?

It couldn’t be easier: simply purchase the flight of your choice online on our website. You will then receive a purchase confirmation by email, inviting you to choose your desired flight date. We will then get back to you to confirm the date (or suggest a new one if necessary). As flights are weather-dependent, we will contact you the day before the confirmed date to confirm that the flight will go ahead as planned. Don’t worry, if the weather is bad, we will quickly reschedule a new date together. Your ticket is valid for two years!
